Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Average Work Hours (weekly unless noted): 40 hours
Average Salary (yearly in dollars unless noted): $90,000 - $100,000
Description: This position is responsible for designing, building, and managing Mercari's Web Infrastructure Platform which include compute and storage elements, configuration management, security, monitoring systems, and other related platforms. The engineer must ensure that all components are working in an integrated fashion in a fast-paced environment with a high level of accuracy. Communication and collaboration across the engineering teams and with the Internal and External Customer Support teams is a critical component for this position.
Qualifications / Requirements: Minimum of five years of experience building large, complex software infrastructure systems. Significant experience with system integration, automated configuration management and orchestration tools, programming/scripting, web and storage servers/systems, networking, monitoring/alerting, and system security. Previous DevOps experience within a web product company, or with major web hosting and/or cloud service providers (such as Amazon Web services, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure).

Data Scientist

Average Salary (yearly in dollars unless noted): $120,000 - $150,000
Description: This position is responsible for creating sophisticated data pipelines, developing cutting-edge machine learning models, and building data visualizations for Mercari. The Data Scientist must be able to work independently, have strong technical abilities, and have an inquisitive mind for discovering and understanding complex problems. This individual must have experience working with large and complex datasets, understanding and solving issues through data-driven models, and be capable of developing sophisticated statistical models.
Qualifications / Requirements: Minimum of three years of relevant work experience with strong technical abilities in Statistics, Data Science, Machine Learning, Data Modeling and Algorithms. Expertise in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java and well versed with open source data science libraries. Advanced degree in fields such as Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field preferred.

DevOps Engineer

Description: The Devops engineer is responsible for building, maintaining, and deploying Mercari's production cloud-based systems. The engineer must have extensive experience in using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Kubernetes and be comfortable in scripting languages such as Python and Bash. This individual should have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate across various teams to ensure the timely delivery of quality services.
Qualifications / Requirements: Minimum of five years of relevant experience including working with CI/CD tools and scripting languages. Extensive experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. In-depth knowledge of best practices for deploying, configuring, and managing applications. Experience with container technologies. Previous DevOps experience within a web product company is preferred.

Software Engineer

Description: This position is responsible for building and debugging Mercari's core applications. The software engineer must have a strong background in development using modern programming languages such as Java and Python while also having the ability to stay focused on completings tasks within a given timeframe. The engineer must be able to communicate and collaborate with other teams to ensure tasks are completed with high quality.
Qualifications / Requirements: Minimum of three years of experience developing software applications. Expertise with one or more modern programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, node.js, React.js, etc. Ability to write clean, maintainable and efficient code. Willingness to work with a team to solve complex problems.

Product Manager

Description: This position is responsible for managing the product pipeline for Mercari. The product manager must be a strategic thinker and have a good understanding of technology and software development. He/she must be able to design product specifications, create cost-benefit analyses, and develop and optimize the product strategy and roadmap. He/she must also have a strong stakeholder management and be able to drive product releases and handle customer feedback.
Qualifications / Requirements: Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management. An understanding of software development and UX design principles. Solid knowledge and experience in product design, user research, customer analysis, and market analysis. Excellent project management and communication skills. BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.

User Experience Designer

Description: This position is responsible for creating an engaging, intuitive, and user-friendly experience for users of Meraci's product. The UX designer must have a good understanding of the current web and mobile interface trends and must be able to design and implement features that meet the company's objectives. They should be comfortable in designing prototypes and must be able to communicate their designs to the development teams.
